Jerry Atnip and his wife Joanne moved their young family of four to Huntsville in the early 1960’s. By 1967, while working from the garage of their home, Jerry formed Atnip Construction, with a focus on residential construction. Over the years, God blessed the family business and it continued to grow. In 1975, property was acquired to facilitate that growth at their current location; that same year the business was incorporated and became Atnip Design & Supply Center. Within a few short years, Jerry became a distributor for Martin Industries, a local fireplace and stove manufacturer in North Alabama, and the rest is history. For more than forty years Atnip Design & Supply Center has grown to be the Tennessee Valley’s first choice for fireplaces, supplying many of America’s best made fireplaces from brands such as Travis, Heatilator, Heat n Glow, and many other quality brands.

Jerry’s son, Robby, joined the family business in 1987. A licensed architect, developer and home-builder, Robby now works alongside his father as they strive to offer quality fireplace products and installations to their growing customer base across north Alabama and southern Tennessee.
